Roland Martin did an incredible piece yesterday on Valentine’s Day. He states, in part:
With retailers hurting and the U.S. president trying to encourage Americans to spend money to restore consumer confidence, what I’m about to say may seem like treason. But here goes: Please boycott Valentine’s Day and all that is associated with this horrendous “holiday.”

I have to say I agree with Mr. Martin’s statements. I also apply the same principles to Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and to some degree, Christmas. [I celebrate the birth of Christ every day when I glorify the Father in praise for my salvation through His love]
With 365 days in a year, isn’t it important to show expressions of gratitude and love on more than just one day – directed by retailing?
I’m just saying…
