1. That he ran uncontested for the Illinois Senate? Not because no one else wanted to run, but because his paid consultant, Ronald Davis, single-handedly went through petition signatures and had them disqualified – hundreds at a time – in order to knock the others running off the ballot. (see pgs 2-3)
2. That because of Obama’s relationships with corrupt leaders in Cook County (Chicago, IL) government, he did nothing to cause reform when he could have? (see pgs 12-19)
3. Obama’s words, as quoted in the Chicago Tribune in April 2007, explained many of his tactics during his time in Chicago and the Illinois Senate in this manner:
“If you can win, you should win and get to work doing the people’s business.” ( see pg 3)
4. In January of 2003, State Senator Obama approached Senate President Emil Jones with the following conversation.
“You can make the next U.S. senator.”
“Wow, that sounds good!” Jones replied. “Got anybody in mind?”
“Yes,” Obama answered. “Me!”
5. In order to fill that role, Jones began throwing high profile, easily passable, bills in Obama’s direction, taking them from the original writers and sponsors in the eleventh hour. This did not make Obama’s colleagues happy.
State senator Rickey Hendon once complained to reporter Todd Spivak that “no one wants to carry the ball ninety-nine yards all the way to the one-yard line, and then give it to the halfback who gets all the credit and the stats in the record book.” (see page 30)
6. On more controversial issues in the State Senate, Obams would habitually vote “present” instead of taking a recorded vote. He voted that way about 130 times while serving in the Illinois Senate. (see pgs 31 – 32)
I’m only through the first two chapters. I’m pretty sure these are not uncharted waters for politicians on either side of the aisle, which is scary enough for me! We, the people, need to rise up and insist that things change in our political parties, in our government offices, and in the minds of those elected to serve US.
I’m just saying…
KUSA – Some viewers contacted 9NEWS Saturday, questioning the design of the credentials to see Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
The viewers say with the stars and blue field in the lower left corner, it looks like an upside down American flag. Published flag etiquette states the stars should always be displayed in the upper left corner. An upside down flag represents an international symbol of extreme distress.
Matt Chandler with the Obama campaign says the flag is not upside down. He says it is a stylized flag designed to blend the stars on Senator Obama’s shirt with the flag blowing in the wind.
Natalie Wyeth with the Democratic National Convention Committee sent 9NEWS the following statement Saturday night: “The DNCC community credentials incorporate patriotic design elements. They do not depict an actual American flag. The DNCC has full and complete respect for the flag and all rules of display.”

Here’s my problem with this: You have a person from Obama’s campaign making the statement “the flag is not upside down.” He then goes on to state it is a stylized flag. Okay, so it IS a flag. Oh, hmmmm – and look, it IS upside down!! He then goes on to say it is designed that way to blend the stars on the Senator’s shirt with THE FLAG (okay, so again he says it IS a flag) blowing in the wind. Well, you can look at the image with Obama in any good photo shop type program and see the shirt the Senator is wearing is white, not navy blue with white stars. That coloring/imagery is hologramed in from the flag, not vice-versa.
To top it off, the DNC has a committee member make a statement saying the credentials do not depict an actual American flag. Yet it is absolutely an American flag! Any idiot can see it is an American flag.
And THAT is the thing that really sits wrong with me. This is just another in a series of things that any idiot should be able to see through Obama’s team’s explanations of. The media has so inundated us with Obama that many have become mesmerized, dare I say hypnotized, by their coverage!
I have no doubt that Obama, his campaign staff, and the DNC understand what they are doing. And that is what scares me the most.
I’m just saying…
I’m just saying…
I bought the two books out about Barack Obama today at Sam’s Club…
The Case Against Barack Obama: The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media’s Favorite Candidate, by David Freddoso, political reporter for National Review Online
The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality, by Jerome R. Corsi, Ph.D, who co-authored the book on John Kerry in the last election cycle.
I have heard, of course, good and bad things about both books. The left says they are both riddled with lies and innuendos. The right says they are both spot on and should be required reading.
I say, I don’t know enough about Obama to know. I’ll highlight things that sound fishy and do my own research, just like I do with all non-fiction I read. It’s just how I am. I do have to say, though, my gut feeling is one of dread where Obama is concerned. No one who has today’s media having orgasmic reactions about them can be a good person – just by the nature of what the media IS! And he truly is the media’s darling child.
I saw two bumper stickers while in town today that just really puzzle the crap out of me:
One was the “Save the Baby Seal” bumper sticker, but with a twist. It had a picture of the bloodied, skinned bodies of baby seals killed on a seal hunt. It was quite gruesome to see. And it made me glad they have not followed this trend on the “Save the Baby Human” bumper stickers…. although I imagine an image of aborted fetuses would have quite an impact on people.
The other read: 9/11 Was An Inside Job
Now to me this means there are people out there who actually believe:
1. The POTUS worked with Al-Quida to teach terrorists how to use planes as bombs.
2. He then looked the other way, ignoring any sign it was going to happen.
3.. He planned the death of thousands of men, women and children.
4. He put an entire city in jeopardy for….. oil? A case to invade Iraq? What? He was bored?
5. The government planned to demolish The Pentagon.
And that would be just some of the beliefs. If this were the case, and they felt they had proof, shouldn’t they be doing more than plastering bumper stickers on their cars? Because, quite frankly, if this is true, then President Bush should be brought up on murder charges – along with anyone who helped with this terrible conspiracy.
I’m just saying…
so, as a result, we missed this forum. I would have liked to have seen it, and I was pleased to hear that Rick Warren did ask some of the “tough” questions everyone feared he wouldn’t.
The National Republican Congressional Committee has released the following ad:
I’ve reproduced (read: cut and paste) an interesting article from GOPUSA website. Before you totally “pooh pooh” his idea, think hard on his opening statement of the article!! The answers follow….

Voters Should Pass A Minimal Civics Test
By Doug Patton
August 11, 2008
I have never been an advocate of the popular notion that “everyone should vote.” Some people look at me as if I am somehow un-American when I say that I am not in favor of encouraging people to vote who would otherwise never darken the door of a polling place. I really don’t want someone on the streets of Hollywood, who just failed to identify the vice president of the United States on one of Jay Leno’s “Jay-Walking” segments, helping to select the person who will lead my government for the next four years.
So here is a basic, common-sense test that every American wishing to exercise the right to vote should answer (I’m sure in this dumbed-down era in which we live we will have to come up with multiple choice answers to make it easier, but here are some preliminary questions):
1. Name the three branches of the federal government.
2. Name the current president and vice president of the United States.
3. How long have they served?
4. How long are the president and vice president allowed to serve?
5. How many members are there in the U.S. House of Representatives?
6. How are House Members chosen?
7. How long is their term in office?
8. How long are they allowed to serve?
9. Name the current speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
10. Which party currently holds the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives?
11. How many members are there in the U.S. Senate?
12. How are U.S. Senators normally chosen?
13. How long is a U.S. Senator’s term in office?
14. How long are they allowed to serve?
15. Name the current majority leader of the U.S. Senate.
16. Which party currently holds the majority in the U.S. Senate?
17. How many individuals currently sit on the United States Supreme Court?
18. Name three of them.
19. How are members of the U.S. Supreme Court selected?
20. How long can Supreme Court Justices serve?
21. What is an electoral vote?
22. How many electoral votes are currently required in order to elect the president and vice president?
23. How is the president selected if he/she fails to receive the required number of electoral votes?
24. How is the vice president selected if he/she fails to receive the required number of electoral votes?
25. What is an executive order?
26. How is an amendment to the U.S. Constitution passed?
27. How many constitutional conventions has the United States had?
If a potential voter could not answer at least 18 of these questions (two-thirds), he/she should not be allowed to vote. How did you do? Need to study up?

Mexican Troops Cross Border, Hold Border Agent
Wednesday, August 6, 2008 10:33 AM
By: Jim Meyers
Mexican troops crossed the border into Arizona and held a U.S. Border Patrol agent at gunpoint on Sunday, according to a published report.
Agents assigned to the Border Patrol at Ajo, Ariz., said the Mexican soldiers crossed the border into an isolated area southwest of Tucson and pointed rifles at the agent, who has not been identified.
The Mexicans withdrew after other American agents arrived on the scene, The Washington Times reports.
It’s not known why the troops crossed the border, but American law enforcement authorities have said that current and former Mexican soldiers have been hired to protect drug and immigrant smugglers.

This post is fraught with links as opposed to videos. Partly because I am not savvy enough to handle either ‘KeepVid’ or ‘Post to WordPress’. Partly because some of what I am going to tell you about I do not want to have people able to view on my site!
First off, check out Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s (R-Minn) speech to the House regarding de-funding of Planned Parenthood. It is pieced in places, but it is a good stand. The link also has a way for you to send your thanks. You may be inclined to do so after seeing the video.
And on another [sour] note about Planned Parenthood:
You need to take a few minutes and check out what PP is putting out on the World Wide Web for our children to use as guidance to sex. It’s called takecaredownthere.org, and the link will take you to the “watch” section where there are a series of videos geared to tween through teen. All pretty gross in concept, although not “graphic”. One video implies male homosexual oral sex, and one video contains the “Take Care Down There” song. It is a singing rendition of some of the things sexual organs are called – mostly cutesy names, but still crude.
With catchy little slogans like “The ins and outs of the ins and outs”, and “Take the ugly out of bumpin’ uglies”, this site is SURE to be a hit with parents!! NOT! And, yes, these are our tax dollars at work!
I am looking for some McCain things to post, honest! But Barack Obama just keeps giving me stuff to put out here. I am to the point that I think it might be all about the VP for me. Because I don’t think either of our candidates would live through an entire term in office!
Okay, so here was the question – selected from Obama’s Answer Center:
Question 21 reads: What is Senator Obama’s position on immigration reform?
Selecting this brings you to the following screen:
Be sure to zoom in a bit so the wording is clear.
The “click here” nets you this:
So I still don’t know what Obama’s comprehensive reform consists of. The question of the day is: Does he?
I’m just saying.
Thank God Almighty, I’m free at last!!
My title is a bit misleading. Let me explain.
I have allowed myself to be burdened over something since last October. And I mean allowed myself! Because God Almighty freed me from it the moment I asked His help. He unlocked the chains I had been entangled in and freed me. Problem is, I didn’t shake the chains off!
So, there I was – some eight months later – standing wrapped in heavy chains that weren’t even locked onto me. ::smacks head HARD:: DUH! I have allowed every hurtful little word, every whisper, every mean spirited innuendo of the situation to hurt me to my very core. I will go so far as to say I even positioned myself in a place to receive those things! Yeah, I know – the word stupid comes to mind for me too!
This morning as I woke up something was different. I don’t know how to explain it. It was as if, as I slept, my heart FINALLY heard the still small voice of the Holy Spirit telling me the chains were only still there because I had not stepped out of them. As I went to put on my armor this morning, I realized, “Hey, this would be much easier to do if I took these chains off first.”
And, so I have. Today, my mind has caught up with the grace God has already given me; and I declare myself OFFICIALLY……….
I just read an [older – Jan., 2007] article about the whereabouts of John James , former lead singer of The Newsboys. This is a sadly painful story on one hand, yet his redemption will leave you feeling great joy and in awe, once again, of what the Lord can do. I pray you’ll take time to read it, if you haven’t already seen it.
I know an article over a year old is not ground-breaking news. However, there was a point in the article that really got to me. John speaks about the adoration, cheering, worship of the fans. The CHRISTIAN fans. And it got me to wondering how that can happen. How we, as Christians, can come to a point where – like the world – we idolize the musician or group instead of enjoy the worship of the One it is intended to honor?
My family has been to a number of concerts featuring Christian artists. We’ve “met” many Christian performers. We walked a table line for Audio A, Rebecca St. James and a few other big names in Christian music. Been there, done that, have the T-shirts. But I think the most memorable times, for our family, were the times we truly got to spend with these musicians and band members – talking about what God is doing in their lives, and in our lives. My kids spent hours with Pigeon John, Riley Armstrong, and Red Cloud at LifeLight one year. And these performers talked to these kids about God, about where they stood with His Son. We’ve spent real time with Jeremy Camp, the guys from [now defunct] OC Supertones, Scott Kirkpayne. We worked the merch table with Chris and Matt of Sanctus Real – and had wonderful conversations with these guys. When Morgan Cryer came to town, my daughter went to lunch with the pastor’s family [her bff’s dad!] and Morgan. He even fixed her hair ribbon – stopped it from ravelling. I remember her saying, “Mom – he’s a real person just like everyone else!”
And that’s the point – these are real people, just like we are. They are fellow brothers-in-Christ. They need the same edification, love and accountability as everyone else. They do not need us to adore them for what they do. They need us to love them for who they are. Now, I’m not saying that every artist and every venue will allow for you to spend time with these people. But where there is opportunity, meet them – love them as brothers. Unless you are a journalist covering the concert, I’m pretty sure you will find they love to talk about things other than their music! That’s what we’ve found.
