Chris “I Get A Thrill Up My Leg” Matthews criticizes President Obama!!
is another broken promise from our “Administration of Change”.
From FRC, Friday, 02/06/09
Last year, Sen. Barack Obama proposed more than $331 million worth of earmarks to the Appropriations Committee on Illinois’s behalf. As CNN says, that was last year. On January 6, 2009, the President-elect pledged to change his ways. He vowed to the American people that the stimulus plan would be pork-free. “We are going to ban all earmarks,” he insisted.
What a difference a month–and some public resistance–make. Realizing that his recovery package wasn’t headed toward a fairy-tale ending, Obama did what mortal politicians do. He broke his promise. During his speech to the House Democrats’ retreat yesterday (02/05/09), Obama returned to politics as usual. “[T]here’s the argument, well, this is full of pet projects. When was the last time that we saw a bill of this magnitude move out with no earmarks in it? Not one,” he said to applause. “So then you get the argument, well, this is not a stimulus bill–this is a spending bill. What do you think stimulus is?”
“Missiles fired from suspected US drones killed at least 15 people inside Pakistan today, the first such strikes since Barack Obama became president and a clear sign that the controversial military policy begun by George W Bush has not changed.
Security officials said the strikes, which saw up to five missiles slam into houses in separate villages, killed seven “foreigners” – a term that usually means al-Qaeda – but locals also said that three children lost their lives. ”
Note: I apologize in advance for any crappy screen prints. I’m working to refine/sharpen them. Thing is – you never know how long a link will be valid anymore!!
If you are living anywhere near a radio or television, you have heard about Illinois Governor Blagojevich’s alledged misconduct. And you will also have, no doubt, heard how The One knew nothing of said conduct and had not even spoken with the Governor since his elevation to “The Office of the President-Elect”.
Asked Tuesday in Chicago whether he had been in contact with Blagojevich about the job, Obama said, “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.”
However, Obama’s Senior Advisor told the news that Gov. Blago had been spoken to by Obama. And news reports stated that Gov. Blago had been spoken to by Obama.
But Axelrod said on Chicago television Nov. 23 that the two had spoken. Asked if Obama had expressed a preference, Axelrod said he had not, but also said: “I know he’s talked to the governor. And…there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and he’s, I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.”
This has caused a dilemma for our newly created, so far untarnished “Office of the President-Elect”. What to do? What to do?
Well, in typical Chicago fashion, here is what you do:
First, you have any footage of David Axelrod speaking with Fox News about Obama having spoken with the Govenor removed from the internet.
Then your staff begins eating crow to CYA:
On Tuesday, Axelrod said: “I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the president-elect has spoken directly to Gov. Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.”
That noise you hear is our forefathers spinning in their graves.
I’m just saying…

Stem cell and climate rules among targets of president-elect’s team
Transition advisers to President-elect Barack Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administration actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone to reverse White House policies on climate change, stem cell research, reproductive rights and other issues, according to congressional Democrats, campaign aides and experts working with the transition team.

Obama’s Already Broken Two Promises, Will Media Report?
By Warner Todd Huston (Bio | Archive)
November 7, 2008 – 08:22 ET
Obama has already broken two promises and the media isn’t too interested in talking about it. Two promises broken before he even sets his first foot in the White House.
So the ONE has broken TWO already? Hmm, wonder what they are… let’s see, shall we?
The first broken promise was the one where the candidate of “change” was going to bring a new tone to Washington. This one has been broken by Obama’s choice for Chief of Staff: Rahm Emanuel.
Yeah, I wondered about that myself. Rahm Emanuel is not a very nice man – not a unifier at all. As a matter of fact, you might blush were I to repeat some of the things this man has said about Republicans….. But I digress – what else have we got here?
And now comes his second broken promise. Politico reported on November 5 that Barack Obama has stepped back from his claim that lobbyists would not have a place in his new administration….
Once again, the “new” Washington that Barack Obama sold to a willing electorate is quickly turning into the same old Washington that Obama claimed he wanted to “change.”
Newmax.com has an interesting article regarding Obama’s contribution irregularities.
Ken Timmerman’s post opens:
As Barack Obama reaped a stunning $150 million in campaign donations in September, bringing his total to more than $600 million, new questions have arisen about the source of his amazing funding.
By Obama’s own admission, more than half of his contributions have come from small donors giving $200 or less. But unlike John McCain’s campaign, Obama won’t release the names of these donors.
